Joining ESAH
Equality Starts at Home (ESAH) is a not-for-profit campaign which has a vision of a world where equality at home is a reality for all. Our mission is to shift mind-sets and change behaviours to enable a greater sharing of emotional and domestic labour.
ESAH was set up by Four Co-Founders in June 2020 in response to the urgent challenge of inequality in the home – aggravated during the COVID-19 lockdown. ESAH believes the unequal sharing of household responsibilities is bad for women, men and all of society.
We are looking for volunteers in the areas below who will be instrumental in taking ESAH to the next stage of development.

Current Vacancies
CEO
Location: Remote
Duration: 15 – 20 hours/week
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: 1 year contract (renewable)
Salary: Initially voluntary, with future pay based on successful fundraising
About the role:
At Equality Starts at Home (ESAH) we’re looking for someone who is passionate about equality, diversity, and inclusion to be our CEO to make equality at home a reality for all.
This role will be supported by and be able to draw on the extensive and diverse experience of our Trustees and Strategic
Advisors who have a depth of experience across a diversity of disciplines and industries.
We are looking for a self-driven, dynamic, and hands-on individual who is looking to gain invaluable experience supporting ESAH scale and grow as a charity.
You’ll be joining a dedicated team or Trustees and Strategic Advisors who love what they do and are driven to make a difference.

What you’ll do:
• Develop and execute a fit for purpose fundraising plan
• Develop and execute ESAH’s priorities/strategies to raise awareness and drive change, including
ensuring we have a ‘harmonized’ voice as an organization
• Foster and strengthen relationships with likeminded individuals/organizations to drive awareness and change
• Represent ESAH publicly, advocating for gender equality and raising ESAH’s profile.
• Manage budgets and ensure financial sustainability.
What you’ll gain:
• Hands-on experience working in the charity sector with a scale up organization
• Expanding your network through leveraging the existing ESAH Network/brand name
• Experience working with a team of Trustees/Strategic Advisors who are leaders in their respective disciplines/industries
• Fundraising and marketing experience
• Governance and BOD reporting to an experienced group of Trustees
What we’re looking for:
• A self-driven individual with high energy to shape ESAH’s path forward
• A passion for gender equality, especially within the home and an understanding of challenges
related to gender equality.
• Experience in building and maintaining relationships with a wide range of people.
• Great communication and public speaking skills.

Digital Campaining Officer
Role Type: Volunteer

About this role
ESAH are looking for a committed Digital Officer volunteer to produce and publish our online content. The Digital Officer will join at a time when ESAH is moving into an exciting new phase of development, with the recent launch of our new strategy.
The Digital Officer will have the opportunity to work alongside ESAH Founding members and the Steering Group and to build skills and experience across a range of areas including but not limited to gender equality, campaigning, strategy, planning and growing a start-up not-for-profit.
As a voluntary Digital Officer, you will be creating content that highlights the issue of inequality in the home, promotes ESAH vision and mission, activities and stories. This position will be key to making an impact across a range of our digital platforms.
Responsibilities
- Creating and designing email newsletters
- Engage key stakeholders in conversations through our digital channels
- Regularly monitoring analytics to assess the impact and effectiveness of our digital activities
- Ensuring all content on the website is up to date
- Contribute to the development of the Digital Strategy
- Supporting Steering Group meetings (e.g. taking notes on a rotation basis)
Skills, knowledge and experience
We are looking for someone who shares our passion for the vision, mission and values of ESAH and we are looking for people with the following skills or experience and/ or keenness to learn.
- Full understanding and working knowledge of digital, social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram
- Experience using email marketing platforms such as mailchimp
- Strong design skills (experience using Photoshop or Canva would be advantageous)

About this role
ESAH are looking for a Fundraising, Governance and Impact Officer to support us become an entity (likely to be a charity, social enterprise or community interest company), to research, identify and apply for funds and set up a framework to measure our impact. This is an exciting time to join ESAH and this role will play a key part in shaping our future.
Responsibilities
- Researching eligible funding opportunities (for start-ups) including identifying corporations who may wish to partner with us and writing bids where appropriate
- Researching options for setting up ESAH as an entity (charity, social enterprise etc)
- Ensuring all ESAH documentation is captured and filed appropriately and according to good practice
- Supporting Steering Group meetings (currently fortnightly) by taking minutes and actions
- Supporting the development and implementation of our business plan and developing a framework to measure the impact of our work
Skills, knowledge and experience
We are looking for someone who shares our passion for the vision, mission and values of ESAH and we are looking for people with the following skills or experience and/ or keenness to learn.
- Fundraising in any context
- Research or information gathering
- Understanding of governance of a charity / social enterprise / company
